Here's everything you need to know about getting your music on Spotify with The Artist Platform and making the most of it once it's there. Each section links to a full article if you want more detail.
Getting your music on Spotify
Once you submit a release, our review takes 1–2 business days. After that, Spotify usually has it within 1–3 days. To give yourself time to pitch and promote, submit at least 5 weeks before your release date. How long until my release is live?
Add your Spotify artist ID when you create your release, so your music lands on your own profile and not on someone else's with the same name. Find your Spotify URI
Claim your profile with Spotify for Artists
Spotify for Artists is Spotify's free app for managing your profile, seeing your stats and pitching new music. You can claim your profile even before your first release goes live. Getting access to Spotify for Artists
Need your Spotify link or URI before release day, for example for a pre-save campaign? We can get it for you once your release has been delivered. Find your Spotify URI (before and after release)
Pitch your song to Spotify's editors
You can pitch one unreleased song at a time in Spotify for Artists. Pitch at least 5 weeks before release. When you do, Spotify also adds the song to your followers' Release Radar playlists. A pitch doesn't guarantee a playlist placement, but it's the only way to put your song in front of the editors. Editorial Playlist Pitching
Make your profile stand out
Canvas. A short looping video that plays with your track, filling the phone screen. It must be 3–8 seconds long, in vertical 9:16 format, as an MP4 or JPG. Add it in Spotify for Artists.
Artist images. Update your profile picture and header image in Spotify for Artists. How to update your artist page images
Discovery Mode. Ask Spotify to recommend chosen tracks to more listeners. How do I submit a track to Discovery Mode?
How Spotify pays
Spotify pays by stream share: your share of all the listening in each country. A track needs at least 1,000 streams in the previous 12 months to earn recording royalties. How streaming royalties work

My release isn't on Spotify yet | Check the timings above. If it's past your release date, see Music missing in stores. |
I took a release down, but I can still see it | Spotify keeps a greyed-out, unplayable copy so playlists and links don't break. Why a release can still appear after a takedown |
