What the maintenance fee covers

The one-time maintenance fee keeps your existing releases live in stores after your plan lapses. What it covers, what it doesn't, and how to come back.

The maintenance fee is a one-time payment that keeps your existing releases live in stores when your plan has ended. Your music stays up, and your royalties keep coming in. To release new music or use the full set of tools again, restart your plan whenever you're ready.

What this means

Life gets busy, and sometimes you just need to keep things running for a while. The maintenance fee lets you do exactly that.

It covers:

  • your existing releases staying available in stores

  • collecting and processing your royalties

  • updates to your release details (metadata) when needed

It doesn't cover:

  • uploading new releases

  • full access to tools like analytics, promotion features and your artist website

  • exclusive opportunities, mentoring or royalty advances

Royalties you've already earned are always yours. An ended plan doesn't take away money you've earned.

When this applies

  • Your renewal payment didn't go through, and your three-month grace period is ending.

  • You've just paid the maintenance fee. You're all set: your current releases stay live, and you don't need to do anything else.

During the grace period, your existing releases stay live and we'll send you reminders. You can't upload new releases until your plan is active again.

What you need before you start

  • Your login for The Artist Platform.

  • The email address on your account, so you don't miss our messages about your plan.

Step-by-step

  1. Watch for our email. Before your grace period ends, we'll contact you to set up the maintenance fee.

  2. Reply early. Don't leave it until the deadline. We'd much rather set this up with you early than have your music come down.

  3. Pay the one-time fee. Once it's paid, your existing releases stay live.

  4. Restart your plan when you're ready. That brings back new releases and the full set of tools. See our plans

What happens next

  • After you pay, your existing releases stay live in stores and your royalties keep being collected.

  • If you don't renew or pay the maintenance fee, your releases are removed from stores when the grace period ends.

  • When you come back to a full plan, you can release new music, see your fan insights and analytics, use your FanHub and promotion tools, and apply for opportunities like royalty advances.
